Synopsis

This is the way to make a special effects movie: decades after its release, Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animated monsters are as gripping and exciting as ever in this 1958 classic - the first of Columbia's Sinbad trilogy. To restore the magically shrunken Princess Parisa to life-size, Sinbad must defeat a giant Cyclops, steal an eggshell from a giant Roc's nest, overcome a fire-breathing dragon, outwit wily magician Sokurah and release an imprisoned genie from a lamp. Easy!

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
