Synopsis

Set in central Europe in the late 19th century, the biggest sensation around is an extraordinary conjuror who has just come to scenic Vienna. But while everyone agrees his show is great, there is debate over who this mysterious man might be. Could he actually have real magical powers? Or is he part of some political plot aimed at damaging the royal family? This is a beautiful-looking film filled with romance, intrigue and amazing effects, with a great cast and a script that brilliantly pulls you into the story.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
