Young Jimmy Rabbitte has an unlikely vision - to bring soul music to Dublin. To this end, he brings together a motley assortment of musicians who, against the odds, start to gel into something really special. But can these volatile, working-class kids keep it together long enough to find fame and fortune? Hilarious, profane and driven along by classic 60s soul tunes, director Alan Parker's film of Roddy Doyle's book harnesses the raw energy of its young cast, many of whom were making their acting debut.
Musical set in the 1960s about a fictional girl group and their rise to fame and fortune.
