Is it better to limit yourself to the truth or to live as fully as your imagination allows? The second is the option chosen by Baron Munchausen, who claimed to have been up to the moon, into the belly of a sea monster, and travelled the world with companions including the world's fastest runner. The film used then-groundbreaking special effects, but the reason they work is because the director has an imagination every bit as wonderful as his hero.
Inspired by Lewis Carroll's famous nonsense poem, this zany medieval-set comedy is about a nervous young man who sets out to slay a dragon.
