Synopsis
Devdas returns to his wealthy family in India after spending ten years studying in London. He hopes to marry his childhood friend Paro, with whom he shares his deepest secrets, but his family is against the union due to her being of lower financial status. A series of events separates Devdas and Paro, with the two ending up in loveless relationships. Their tragic love story takes an emotional toll that affects them in extreme ways, with Devdas forming bad habits to deal with his pain. This is a sweeping Hindi-language tale that showcases the deep melodrama and stunning visuals Bollywood is known for.
