Synopsis

An elderly man reads a fairy tale to his grandson who is sick in bed. In the story, a young woman named Buttercup lives on a farm in the fictional kingdom of Florin. She falls in love with the farmhand, Wesley, but he must leave to seek a fortune so that they can afford to marry. When his ship is attached by the Dread Pirate Roberts, he is presumed dead. Five years later, Buttercup is in a forced engagement with Prince Humperdinck. Before the wedding, she is kidnapped by three outlaws, and they in turn are pursued by a masked man in black, as well as by Prince Humperdinck’s soldiers. The adventure will contain much peril and excitement, from fencing duels to gigantic cliffs and treacherous swamps, plus a whole host of mysterious and extravagant characters.
