Synopsis

In 1952 two friends left their comfortable, middle class homes in Argentina and set out on a road trip around Latin America on a battered motorcycle. They were Alberto Granado and his young friend Ernesto Guevara, the man who would subsequently be known as Che Guevara, Marxist guerilla and advocate of violent revolution for the working classes in South America. This exhilarating and tender Spanish language film has nothing to do with armed struggle - instead, it focuses on the people and the landscape of the region and the way in which the young men's experiences formed their political and emotional outlook.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
