Director John "Sully" Sullivan wants to make his mark with a socially responsible film, 'O Brother Where Art Thou?' His bosses aren't convinced and want him to continue making his popular light comedies. Sully won't be swayed, and sets out on a research trip dressed as a tramp to experience real hard times. Accidentally robbed of his identity he finds himself a convict on a chain gang where he learns that laughter can be the greatest gift for a person who has nothing.
Set in the US Deep South in the '30s Depression, this is a classic tale of escaped convicts and comic mishaps from famed director Joel Coen.
