In February 1929, in Prohibition-era Chicago, Joe and Jerry are best friends who play saxophone and double bass in a jazz band. The duo work in a speakeasy owned by a gangster, “Spats”, but when the police are tipped off by an informant, the place is raided by police. Joe and Jerry escape, but later they inadvertently witness Spats and his henchmen gunning down the informant. After being spotted by Spats and his cronies, they flee from the scene, and realise they must leave town. Desperate for money and keen to get far away, Joe and Jerry disguise themselves as women named Josephine and Daphne and join an all-female band headed by train to Miami. During their journey, they befriend Sugar Kane – the band’s vocalist and ukulele player – and compete for her affection. But this is just the beginning of their romantic escapades as plenty more deception awaits upon their arrival at the resort. One of the most renowned screwball comedies of all-time, ‘Some Like It Hot’ is a much-loved Hollywood classic.
