Although she doesn't love him, Karen Blixen marries a friend so she can take on the title of Baroness. The couple moves to Africa to start a new life on a coffee plantation. However, her husband starts spending most of his time away on business, leaving Karen alone - and shortly, she falls in love with the handsome Denys Finch-Hatton. Together, they experience the beauty of Africa - but nothing goes as expected for either of them.
