During the 1970s, mainland Britain was repeatedly attacked by Irish Republican terrorists. Amid a mood of public panic, the police arrested large numbers of Irish men and women, leading to the convictions of many people who were later cleared by the courts. In The Name Of The Father is a powerful drama based on the real story of Gerry Conlon, who spent 14 years in prison for a deadly pub bombing he did not commit.
Classic courtroom drama in which one man attempts to convince his fellow jurors that a murder case might not be as clear cut as it seems.
