Harry Potter is a boy who lives with his wicked aunt and uncle after his parents died when he was just a baby, murdered by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. When Harry turns 11, he’s visited by a half-giant named Hagrid who personally delivers his invitation to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During his first year exposed to the world of magic, Harry learns about potions and spells, but also who he can trust. His notorious name means that everybody knows who he is, but not all – be they teachers, students, or strangers – have the best intentions. Sticking close to his new friends Ron and Hermione, Harry navigates school life amidst shocking rumours that Voldemort has returned and is trying to steal the Philosopher’s Stone. The trio do their best to uncover the mystery without getting killed – or worse, expelled – in the first entry in the hugely popular wizarding franchise.
