The nine youth-made short films included in this collection are the winners of the Into Film Awards 2025, where we celebrate the talent, creativity and potential of young filmmakers and artists around the country. This wide variety of films, made from students of different ages, backgrounds and perspectives, are a fantastic insight into what the future holds for British film.
Cae yr Arth (Cae the Bear) (Best Animation 5-11): A young bear finds a tree sapling and helps it grow in this children's animated short. Uplifting and featuring great music, this is a fantastic example of eco-conscious animation. (3 mins, cert. U)
Animated Voices (Best Animation 12-19): This short, animated documentary film explores life from the perspective of Welsh schoolchildren from ethnic minority backgrounds. The film was funded by The Welsh Government through Diverse Cymru, working with Ethnic Minorities & Youth Support Team Wales. (5 mins, cert. U)
S.I. – Superficial Intelligence (Best Film 5-11): Two students build a deep-thinking artificial intelligence to deal with their ever-growing pile of homework in this children's comedy short. an accomplished and amusing exploration of the risks posed by the future of technology. (10 mins, cert. U)
Superhero School (Best Film 12 to 15): At a school for superheroes with a variety of unique powers, a rivalry ignites between two speed-powered students in this entertaining and surprising short action-comedy. (4 mins, cert. U)
No Dice (Best Film 16 to 19): Inspired by ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ this short fantasy-adventure-comedy follows four older friends as they embark on an epic fantasy adventure by way of a role-playing game. (3 mins, cert. 12)
The Freedom of the Sea (Best Documentary): Short documentary that blends interviews and archive footage, recounting a family's experiences leaving Iran for a new life in Britain. (4 mins, cert. U)
Tipping Point (Time for Action): Short film highlighting the importance of getting off your mobile phone and enjoying life, urging and reminding us all to stand up and live our lives to the fullest. (1 min, cert. U)
Deadlines (Best Story): An overwhelmed office worker discovers something unsettling lurking in her office computer in this short horror film, exploring mental health and including some impressive prop making. (5 mins, cert. 12)
More Than One Way to Go Home (Audience Choice Award): Inspired by the young filmmaker’s own personal experiences with autism, his film follows a young autistic girl who has to find her own way home when her brother leaves her to fend for herself. (10 mins, cert. U)
