This charming 1960s stop-motion animation features an enchanted pair of scissors called Snip and an eager origami puppy dog called Snap. Snip can bring things to life by cutting around them. An upcoming dog show has Snap all excited as the glory of winning first place includes a delicious treat, so Snip sets about pampering the pooch with his skilled haircutting. But another paper dog hoping to snag the top prize has rigged the competition! Luckily Snip is ready to cut in and save the day with some more papercraft magic. This award-winning episode from one of the earliest British animated TV series was created by animators Halas & Batchelor, best known for the 1954 animated feature Animal Farm, and remains an excellent example of innovative use of paper sculpture animation techniques and non-dialogue storytelling.
