Synopsis

In the magical kingdom of Lumbria, King Solon and Queen Ellsmere take a journey into the Dark Forest of Eternal Darkness and when they return, they have become monsters. While they are hidden from the public, their daughter Princess Ellian rules in their place, and her royal advisors suggest that she should officially become the new Queen on her 15th birthday when she comes of age. Ellian asks for one last opportunity to change them back, summoning two deities – the Oracles of the Sun and Moon – to learn more about the spell that’s been cast upon them. When her parents are accidentally let out of their cages and wreak havoc upon the kingdom, Ellian uses a magical device left behind by the deities to allow her family to escape. Together, Ellian and her parents must travel to the Lake of Light to try and find a reversal for the spell before it’s too late. ‘Spellbound’ is a fantastical animation which has deeper themes around family relationships and growing up.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
