Synopsis

Dame Jacinda Ardern was sworn in as New Zealand's 40th Prime Minister on 26th October 2017, where she became the world’s youngest female head of government at age 37. Leading the Labour party, she aimed to focus on climate change, eradicating child poverty and protecting the country’s most vulnerable people, all whilst championing a leadership style that went against the grain of what society was used to seeing from their elected officials. Given unprecedented access to Arden, this intimate documentary follows her as she guides her country through dynamic change and the Covid-19 epidemic, all whilst giving birth during her time as Prime Minister and learning what kind of mother she is. A fascinating and eye-opening look at those at the top of global politics and the sacrifices that are made for both family and country.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
