Synopsis

An iconic city in mythology, Atlantis was said to have been a beautiful Utopia ruled by some of the world’s most innovative minds. Whilst it is mentioned in many historical manuscripts, no proof of it actually existing has ever been found. Using artifacts such as archaeological finds, satellite photographs, manuscripts hiding in plain sight and underwater exploration, Hollywood director James Cameron and filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici go in search of the city, their starting point being the works of the Greek philosopher Plato. As much a mystery thriller as it is a scientific documentary, this film is a fantastic way to see how skills in various areas of technology and science can be put to use in the field.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
