Synopsis

Ria Khan is an energetic teenage martial artist, desperate to meet her idol and follow her footsteps in becoming a world renowned stuntwoman. Her sister Lena, however, is struggling with her depression and lack of direction after dropping out of arts school – that is until she meets the rich, handsome and charming Salim. Ria, surprised and a little jealous of Lena’s new relationship, is immediately suspicious of Salim and is even more shocked when the new couple announce their engagement. Setting out to uncover what she believes to be a great conspiracy against her sister, Lena must use her martial arts skills and stay razor sharp as secrets are revealed. Showcasing a heady mix of Bollywood, action and comedy, Polite Society also reflects on sisterhood, tradition and forging your own path.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
