Synopsis

You never really know what a couple’s relationship is like behind closed doors, but what if you had an insight? Would it look the same to everyone? In this part-reality, part-fiction TV programme, a group of young people come together to watch a short film about the story of Rachel and Alex, then talk about it. As the drama unfolds, manipulative behaviour creeps into the romance. Coercive and controlling behaviour has been a criminal offence since 2015, but it is not always easy to define or prove. The reactions of the young people watching the scenario are varied: they take sides and draw from personal experience to make excuses for or condemn certain actions. Structured as a safe space for debate, the experiment allows opinions to evolve as different perspectives are presented, lending itself to a continued discussion on healthy relationships in the classroom.
