Amy Powney is the designer behind cult label Mother of Pearl, and a rising star of the London fashion scene. Raised off-the-grid in rural England by activist parents, she’s always felt uneasy about the environmental impact caused by her industry. After winning the coveted Vogue award for Best Young Designer of the Year, she sets out to create a sustainable collection with the prize money called No Frills. Despite the skepticism of her industry peers regarding the viability of her ambitious plans, Amy is undeterred. Intending to make as much of the process from field to finished garment as eco-friendly as possible, she and her colleague set off on an adventure around the world to source environmental suppliers. ‘Fashion Reimagined’ is an inspirational and illuminating documentary which examines the environmental cost of modern clothing.
