Extracted from the archive documentary Living Proof, which explores the roots and resistance to the climate crisis in Scotland’s post-war history.
This extract reflects on the ever-relevant question: What happens to our world when the fuel runs out? In answer to this, the film details alternative ways spare energy from factories can be repurposed in other industries. Additionally, it also explores more sustainable and less harmful ways to produce energy, including the use of solar and wave power. The film discusses how rising demands, whether it’s for fishing or transport, affects nature and the more remote areas of Scotland, particularly looking at the effects on the small island, Flotta. This insightful documentary encourages us to reflect on how much has changed and look at how those in the past have dealt with the ongoing climate crisis.
