Synopsis

Franky and Ballas have grown up together in their tight-knit community having always been best friends. Both are handsome, popular and have a bright future ahead of them – until one night at Franky’s 17th birthday party, Ballas drunkenly attempts to initiate a sexual act with an equally intoxicated Franky. Ashamed of his behaviour and concerned his actions may see him outed as gay, Ballas and his girlfriend begin to spread rumours around the school that it was, in fact, Franky who showed an attraction to his best friend rather than the other way around, leading to a rift in the boys’ relationship. This complex but thoughtful teen drama takes a look at the social pressure that young people face in high school and the ways in which we can all show more empathy to those who need support and guidance.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
