This follow-up to the 2014 dark fairytale takes place five years after the previously evil fairy Maleficent restored the Moors to their former glory and crowned Princess Aurora as Queen of the Kingdom. However, Maleficent’s peaceful life is disrupted when Aurora announces her engagement to Prince Phillip, an act that could positively bring the fairy and human kingdom together if it wasn’t for Queen Ingrith’s plan to destroy Maleficent and the Moors. While the opposing sides prepare for conflict, Maleficent discovers a hidden world of fairies that could link her to her ancestors and special powers. This is an entertaining family adventure that discusses themes such as relationships, community and not judging others based on their appearance.
moderate fantasy threat, mild violence, scary scenes
