Synopsis

The previous adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander in 1920s New York may have resulted in the capture of the dark and dangerous wizard Gellert Grindelwald – a figure who would be admired by Lord Voldemort in years to come – but he soon escapes custody and begins to amass a group of followers. Grindelwald’s ultimate plan is to ensure pure-blood wizards and witches are able to rule over non-magical beings, something which Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore vehemently opposes. Unable to act against Grindelwald himself, Dumbledore enlists the help of his former student Newt, who must move quickly if he is to stop Grindelwald from becoming too powerful in an increasingly divided world.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
