After a violent outburst leads to a brief stint in a psychiatric facility, Ingrid Thorburn is released but not reformed. She soon stumbles upon an Instagram celebrity called Taylor Sloane and immediately becomes obsessed with her, even moving to Los Angeles to experience the places and products Taylor recommends. When Ingrid manages to manipulate her way into Taylor’s life by stealing her dog and then returning it, she’s granted hero status by Taylor and her husband Ezra, and the two women quickly strike up a close friendship. But how long will Ingrid be able to maintain the fake persona she’s invented, especially once Taylor’s suspicious brother Nicky turns up? This is a smart and funny social media satire which examines how we present ourselves online.
Very strong language, drug misuse, suicide references.
