The Children's Film Foundation was a British production company set up in 1951 in order to make films specifically for children. This resulted in lots of short films featuring young people on silly, surreal and thrilling adventures across the UK including this set of three films called The Race is On. Featuring Soapbox Derby about two London gangs who decide to hold a cart race against one another, The Sky-Bike about a young boy who invents a flying machine and Sammy's Super T-Shirt about a 12-year-old boy with his heart set on winning a race who gets embroiled in a scientific experiment testing a super strength t-shirt.
Delightful film adaptation of Arthur Ransome's beloved book, following the adventures of four children on holiday in the Lake District in 1929.
