Synopsis

Socially awkward Nathan shuts himself away and struggles to connect with people. However, he finds security in the rigid world of mathematics and formulas, helped through the mentoring he receives from an unconventional teacher. Soon after being persuaded to join the British team, Nathan is heading on a daunting trip to Beijing, to take part in the International Mathematics Olympiad. Faced with a series of challenges, the experience will profoundly change Nathan and his view on the world. This is a richly satisfying comedy drama that will be relatable for anybody who has struggled with confidence and fitting in.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
