As is frequently remarked, the internet has changed many aspects of all our lives. Here Jason Reitman focuses in particular on the ways in which new technologies have impacted on relationships and communication. Focusing on a group of teenagers and their parents in small town America, the film explores the effects of pro-anorexia websites, addiction to gaming as well as the internet’s more explicit content and the measures parents take to protect their children from it. The controversial subjects covered and the film’s moral stance is likely to spark interesting debate with teenage audiences.
