Synopsis

Eggs is a young orphaned boy who was raised by the Boxtrolls, trash collectors who live in a cavernous realm under the streets. He must save his quirky companions from the posh town’s villain, an evil exterminator named Archibald Snatcher, requiring him to venture above ground into the light – where all kinds of false rumours are told about the Boxtrolls. There, he teams up with the feisty Winnifred and together they hatch a daring plan to save the underground community. This charming, comedic stop-motion animated fable, from the makers of Coraline, is based on Alan Snow’s children’s novel Here Be Monsters.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
