Synopsis

This high-end adaptation of the legendary stage musical adapted from a moving novel by French writer Victor Hugo is set during 1832, with revolution in the nineteenth-century Parisian air. A series of acts of kindness leads to a diabolical situation for reformed thief Jean Valjean and Cosette – a young girl he has rescued from a life of abuse and neglect. Attempting to escape the past, they are drawn into a murky world of deception, blackmail and violence. This acclaimed version of the epic historical drama contains show-stopping tunes that breathe life into the society and politics of an important moment in European history.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
