This feature blends live-action and animation to tell the story of the Welsh legends of the Mabinogion, as three modern-day teenagers swim through a magical gateway in the sea to a 6th century Celtic Otherworld. The animated tales are filled with magic spells and violent bloodshed and tell of unwanted love, war and cruel deception. As the teenagers re-emerge, they find that their experiences in the Otherworld have influenced their real-life dilemmas. The theme tune was composed by Welsh-born John Cale, a founding member of legendary rock band, The Velvet Underground. Y mae’r ffilm hon yn cyfuno animeiddio â pherfformio byw i ddweud chwedlau enwog y Mabinogion, wrth i dri pherson ifanc o’r byd modern nofio yn ôl mewn amser, i fyd swynol y Celtiaid yn y 6ed Ganrif. Y mae’r straeon animeiddiedig yn llawn hud a lledrith a thrais gwaedlyd ac yn sôn am ryfel, cariad a thwyll. Wrth i’r bobl ifanc ddod yn ôl i’r byd go iawn mae eu profiadau yn yr arallfyd yn dylanwadu ar eu sefyllfaoedd personol. Bydd y rhai ohonoch sy’n mwynhau cerddoriaeth yn hoff o gerddoriaeth y ffilm hon, yn enwedig y caneuon gan y cyfansoddwr enwog, John Cale , a oedd yn un o aelodau gwreiddiol y band roc chwedlonol,The Velvet Underground.
Contains animated battle violence and moderate sex.
