Synopsis

This highly anticipated science-fiction thriller serves up a visually stunning prequel-come-remake of the 1970s franchise. Scientist Will Rodmanis testing a potential cure for Alzheimer’s on baby chimpanzee, Caesar. As an unexpected side effect, Caesar develops a human-like intelligence at an astounding rate. The mood swings from excitement to terror as Caesar breaks free and releases the vapourised drug among thousands of resentful apes. Rodman desperately fights to undo his actions, but the world is soon on the brink of a revolution like no other. Exquisitely detailed special effects make this survival of the smartest epic an entertaining ride.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
