Synopsis

At the start of this film, Dean and Cindy are the unhappy parents of a young daughter. They fight the whole time - she seems to take everything too seriously and he treats life as a game. What this heartbreaking drama does is slowly let us see how the kind of love-at-first-sight moment movies normally celebrate can lead to years of misery. It's a hard watch, beautifully performed.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
