Synopsis

A Halloween-themed comedy that sees star singer Bette Midler playing the head of a calamitous group of evil witches. The Disney-produced tale follows three children who visit a sinister museum in Salem, America - it holds the bodies of three women hanged for witchcraft crimes 300 years ago. Skeptical of the myth that the lighting of the ancient Black Flamed Candle will resurrect the terrible trio, the foolhardy Max does the inevitable. With an incessantly dizzying pace, likeable child stars and great comic performances from the witches, Hocus Pocus is a safe bet for the season.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
