Synopsis

The Marx Brothers bring their inimitable brand of slapstick lunacy to this, perhaps their most popular film. Famed explorer Captain Spaulding (Groucho) is being feted at an exclusive house party when a valuable painting goes missing. Chico, Harpo and Zeppo are on hand to help find it, and naturally, chaos ensues. This has some of the Brothers' most famous routines, and Groucho's on top form as the big game hunter: "One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know."

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
