Charles Dickens's classic story - which some historians have even claimed invented our modern idea of what Christmas is - has been filmed many times. Here, X-Men star and respected theatre actor Patrick Stewart attempts to get away from some of the cliches as the notorious Scrooge, and the film tries to make Victorian England look tough, rather than Christmas-card cute. The result is a version of the story that is a little less fun than some, but closer to the book.
How many of us wish we had the chance to re-live a day all over again? In this classic comedy, that's exactly what TV weatherman Phil Connors gets.
