Synopsis

Adapted from a book by Richard Adams (Watership Down), this animated film is a fierce attack on the use of animals in laboratory experiments. Two dogs, Rowf and Snitter, escape from a secret government facility and are pursued by their former tormentors (who may have exposed them to the bubonic plague virus). It's angry, heart-breaking and tough to watch, but this also shows that all genres of film have the ability to highlight important issues and stir up debate.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
