"It's not fall that kills you , it's the landing" is the premise of this excellent French movie, directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. This is a film about three young men who have been practically falling from the day they were born, living in a run down area of Paris. It's just a matter of time until they hit the floor. There are three brilliant performances from a young Vincent Cassel, Hubert Kounde and Said Taghmaoui. I'm a big fan of Vincent Cassel and seeing him in such a physically driven role really showed his unbelievable potential as an actor. Shot in black and white, it brings something new and different and makes it seem very real. If you love gritty urban movies then Le Haine is perfect. Very different and pretty weird in some points if I'm being honest.
