'The way home' or 'Jibeuro'is a beautiful peice of Korean cinema it shows the bittersweet relationship between a spoiled child and his patient grandmother. Sang-woo could have been directed better but the grandmother, now there is a wonderful actor. Kim Eul-boon was discovered in her native village, 78 years old and never seen a movie so its a miracle she carries this film so well. It wouldn't suprise me if many people discount this film without even watching it, the science would put so many people off but as is shown in this film, actions speak louder than words, another reason i can see this film being discounted is that not much happens in the plot line, there is not complicated side stories or major twists just raw passion and basic beauty. The last reason of leaving this film is that Sang-woo is about the most spoiled and irritating boy that I have ever seen in a film, he is so rude to his Grandma how just cares for him but stick with this film and the reward at the end is massive. For me Korean cinema is highly under-rated this film is a good opening to explore this type of cinema. Beauiful. Basic. Brilliant. 5* and recommened to everyone who wants to try something new. I guarantee you will never forget this film
