Team Structure and Core Activity

Into Film is the UK's leading charity for film in education and the community. We provide screen industry careers information and advice, support young filmmakers, and bring the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching.

Our England team, based in Salford, Bristol, Birmingham and London, delivers tailored workshops and resources across England supporting the needs of the curriculum by linking to the eight Gatsby Benchmarks for screen careers, providing quality resources linking to PSHE modules on resilience, and highlighting the value of film education. By watching our rich catalogue of films via Into Film+ or engaging in our events or competitions such as Film of the Month, our work gives schools evidence of SMSC activity and provides them with cultural capital.

We work collaboratively with a range of partners across England to enhance the reach of our offer including The Careers and Enterprise Company Careers Hubs, Local Cultural Education Partnerships, charities, cinemas, film industry partners, universities, and Multi-Academy Trusts. We are an Artsmark Partner and Arts Award supporter.

A quarter of all UK state schools have streamed content using Into Film+. In England, you will find schools across 158 Local Authorities engaging with our programme; from Redcar & Cleveland to Plymouth, North Lincolnshire to North Somerset and everywhere in between.

Filmmaking

At Into Film, we believe that every child should be given the chance to learn hands-on filmmaking skills and to be able to tell their own stories in film. We provide filmmaking training and resources for teachers, youth leaders and young people. Between our ongoing Film of the Month competition and the Into Film Awards, we've highlighted numerous films made by young people in over the years.

Film of the Month

At Into Film, we're always looking to celebrate the astounding breadth of young filmmaking talent across the UK. Our Film of the Month competition looks for imaginative and original films made by young people, giving them a platform and bringing them to wider audiences.
